Details

The Aalto vase (also known as the Savoy vase) is a symbol of timeless design and Finnish glass art. It is one of the most famous glass objects in the world and is an absolute Scandinavian design classic. The Aalto vase was created by the Finnish architect and designer Alvar Aalto in 1936 for Iittala and was presented a year later at the Paris World Exhibition. The organic shape of the Aalto vase greatly resembles the Finnish lake landscapes and is still hand blown today. These timeless forms can be found in Aalto's furniture design again and again. This Aalto vase is 12 cm tall, but is available in various shapes, sizes and colors that you can fabulously combine. It is very versatile, for example, as a flower vase or a container for pens on a desk. But it also looks fabulous standing on its own. The Iittala vase can be seen in all the major design museums in the world.
Iittala is known for modern and timeless Scandinavian tableware and beautiful glass objects in simple Finnish design. Iittala cooperates with many international designers who create design objects and exquisite tableware in minimalist Scandinavian style for Iittala.
