June pendant lamp

Quick Overview

Availability: 6-12 weeks

The beautiful and imposing June pendant lamp made of wood is unique in its nature. The curving, organic shapes of the lamp, characteristic of Finnish design, give it the sophisticated look of a crystal lamp. Nevertheless, the light through the wood looks very natural and simply Scandinavian. The small and discreet LED lights in combination with the wood material are a sign of the compatibility of environmental friendly design and the latest technology which were both essential in the development of the June light. The Finnish designer Mikko Paakkanen designed the sleek June pendant lamp as part of the 2012 Designs for Nature project by Nikari in collaboration with the WWF in Finland. Mikko Paakkanen describes his June lamp and the project as follows: "The 2012 designs for the Nature Project for me are about the importance of our forests and thinking about global warming. Not everyone has the opportunity to turn on a light when it gets dark. Here I wanted to develop a lamp whose materials are natural and sustainable and their technology puts as little pressure as possible on the environment. The light should have a timeless design and be easy to clean. The project is a wonderful example of how a modern design brand can integrate sustainability and protection of the forests into its way of thinking and representing. In the project a lot of world-renowned designers such as Wataru Kumano, Alfredo Häberli and Harri Koskinen were involved."

June pendant light is produced as a special order. For this reason, orders cannot be canceled. For a sample copy of the material, you can contact us anytime.
