Quick Overview

Louis Poulsen

Availability: In stock

The PH 2/1 lamp in Scandinavian style was already designed in 1925/26 by Poul Henningsen and was one of the first models to be created with the help of Louis Poulsen, which was then shown at an exhibition in Paris. This collaboration lasted until the death of Poul Henningsen in 1967. Poul Henningsen was always interested in creating lamps with glare-free light that cast soft shadows and direct the cone of light to the right place. Poul Henningsen was the first to study light on a scientific basis using the logarithmic spiral. With its help and the use of glass, he achieved an even distribution of light and diffuse reflection, i.e. glare effects and shadows could be specifically influenced.

The brightness is evenly dampened by the individual screen elements. The figures refer to the size of the screen segments. The original lamps, such as model 2/2, have three segments, each 20 cm in diameter. The model PH 2/1 pendant luminaire, however, consists of an upper segment with a diameter of 20 cm and a smaller segment underneath, which come from the model 1/1. They were designed because there was a desire to lower the pendant luminaires. The lampshades are made of mouth-blown opalised three-layer glass, glossy on the outside and matt on the inside.

Suspension: Supply cable 2 x 0.75 mm². Supply cable length: 3 m. Canopy: Available. The lamp can be operated with an illuminant of 1 X 40W E14. Aufhängung: Zuleitung 2 x 0,75 mm². Zuleitungslänge: 3 m. Baldachin: Vorhanden. Die Lampe kann mit einem Leuchtmittel von 1 X 40W E14 betreiben werden.
